Development of new numerical methods and their parallel implementation:
Element Methods (BEM): new formulations in the time and frequency
solvers: H-matrix, Fast Multipole Method (FMM) and their coupling;
and multi-physics couplings in linear and nonlinear cases (DGM, FEM,
BEM, TLM, circuit solvers...;
for CAD/CAE link, simplification, meshing...

Development of new methodologies and computation chains:
modelling: innovative acoustic liners and CFRP composites for aeronautic industry , meta-materials for antennas and

(HIRF), antenna modelling and antenna siting, radar cross section

solver for vibro-acoustics
Building on research lead at the
Centre de Mathématiques Appliquées of the Ecole Polytechnique (CMAP)
supervision of Prof. Jean-Claude Nédélec, IMACS has been the first
develop and propose a robust Time Domain BEM solver, providing a
new tool SONATE©
used in industry for simulations in acoustics, and
which proves to
be much more efficient and precise for multi-frequency problems than
tools. Following the success of SONATE© in automotive applications (PSA
Peugeot-Citroën and Renault), a partnership has been signed with LMS
International, the world leader in acoustic simulations. SONATE© is integrated
in the CATIA V5 based platform LMS Virtual.Lab® since Rev9, and
distributed worldwide by LMS Intl now Siemens Industry Software.
